Funding available for Summer Schools
The Hamburg Research Academy promotes the interdisciplinary networking of early career researchers and supports the organisation of summer schools. A maximum of 4000 Euros is available in 2022.
Postdocs, junior research group leaders and W1 professors from all HRA-member universities can apply for the funds. The prerequisite is a collaboration between applicants from at least two HRA member universities or two faculties of the University of Hamburg. The particpants of the successful summer schools may come from any university in Germany and beyond, of course.
Applications can be submitted at any time!
Please include the following documents in your application:
- Brief description of the content of the planned summer school, including possible workshops and other formats (e.g. panel discussion) and the targeted participants (e.g. research areas of the participants) (max. 3 pages)
- CVs of the applying researchers (max. 2 pages each)
- A brief cost plan, detailing how much funding is needed and how it should be used (max. 1 page)
- A schedule for implementation in 2022 - digital or in Hamburg (max. 1 page)
The Board of Directors of the Hamburg Research Academy will select the successful summer school(s).

In addition to the financial resources, you are welcome to use the HRA premises for your summer school, if required and by prior arrangement. We can present the summer school on our website and we would also be happy to set up a registration form for you. We can also feature the summer school in our monthly newsletter and our other communication channels, of course.
