The furniture has been hauled and the boxes unpacked. The Hamburg Research Academy has now moved into its new space at Gorch-Fock-Wall 7. The new location will offer plenty of room for networking events, information sessions, and counseling services for Hamburg’s early career researchers.
Centrally located on Stephansplatz, the former post office building is one of the best-known historical landmarks in Hamburg’s city center. Universität Hamburg’s Von-Melle-Park campus and Bucerius Law School are both nearby.
Along with the new start on Gorch-Fock-Wall, the team also recently welcomed another new member: Julia Kölle will be responsible for communications and lend her voice to the HRA. Over the next few weeks, she will focus on refining the HRA’s publicity in order to ensure that Hamburg’s scientific community is aware of our program and services. Since the spring of this year, a total of 4 new colleagues have joined the team led by Managing Director Elena Nendza: Hannah Schmiegelow (team assistant), Dr. Kerstin Lange (International Affairs), Dr. Linda Jauch (Postdocs), and Julia Kölle (Communications).
We are also preparing for an exciting new project: the first HRA BarCamp, WissenSCHAFFTkarrieren, will take place on 29 November. Together we will develop ideas, discuss, and network. What makes a BarCamp special is that the agenda is developed during the course of the event and determined by the participants. More information will be available on our website shortly.
The HRA team is delighted with the new location and believes that the views over Planten un Blomen will further boost productivity. We look forward to our first visitors!
