Three Minute Thesis Competition
180 seconds to present your doctoral thesis – is it possible? In the Three Minute Thesis Competition, doctoral researchers of all disciplines try exactly this. The HRA Doctoral Council organizes the internationally successful 3MT® for the first time in Hamburg.
What is the 3MT Competition?
The 3MT® competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by doctoral researchers. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
Developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), the first 3MT® competition took place in 2008 for the first time and is now held in over 600 universities across the globe.
Who is the HRA Doctoral Council?
The HRA encourages early career researchers to actively get involved. In March 2019, the Doctoral Council was founded. Four representatives and four substitutes from five higher education institutions have been elected. The Doctoral Council represents the interests of doctoral researchers and promotes networking among its peer group.
